The scientific/ educational model of microKosmos and the simulation / visualization software that interpret and unify physical microscopic phenomena at Primary Education

Researchers and educators worldwide increasingly appreciated the value of models and modeling process in Science Education. However, there rises the need to simulate and visualize the models, especially for students of primary education. We describe an educational intervention for the application of the microKosmos model to the Science class of the two latest grades of Greek primary school (ages 10-12). The main characteristics of this intervention are modeling process and support of computer visualizations. We also propose sources of microKosmos visualization software and ways to apply it to school environment.
