Design, Development and Iterative Refinement of a Module on the Electromagnetic Properties of Materials

We describe a process of design, development, iterative refinement and validation of a teaching learning sequence on the Electromagnetic Properties of Materials. In this approach, we have combined principles from the inquiry-oriented teaching and learning framework and learning through technological design in order to create a sequence of activities that sustains student interest for the extended time that is necessary to attain conceptual understanding of magnetic interactions, magnetization and electromagnetic phenomena.
