Gianna Katsiampoura

The issue of gender in the history of science based on the assumption of almost absence of women from the area of natural sciences, and so cause the resultant legitimate questions why so few famous women scientists, and further why such a small women's participation in these disciplines. Today, after the modern theoretical and methodological approaches and the changes in the discipline of history of science, the main question from a theoretical viewpoint is to identify and analyze the gender perceptions that have limited the actual presence of women in or removed from the presence of the historiographical references. Moreover, to examine the shape of modern science to understand the ideological mechanisms of exclusion that developed it. So, first we can easier interpreted this fact (so few women scientists) and, second, the outcomes in scientific, theoretical and political level.
