The purpose of this study is to investigate the ideas that non major science university students, have about waves and light and to propose a model for teaching these subjects to them. This software based didactical approach-proposal it also seems to be appropriate for secondary education students. The didactical approach, which is a proposal for scientific to educational models transformation concerning waves and light, was applied during the academic year 2007-2008 to 72 students of Pedagogical Department for Primary Education of the University of Athens. In this paper, we present the teaching method and describe the teaching material-software in this computer supported attempt. Software was created in Front Page and the simulations - with possibility of changing parameters - which contains are developed from us especially for this application-study in Visual Basic 6.0. Some general conclusions from the statistical analysis of pre, post and final tests are also cited.
