An instructional module on the first law of Newton is designed using educational material that has been produced by the European Space Agency. Students experimented with everyday materials and also watched activities that took place on the International Space Station. This combination makes the study of concepts of physics more interesting and rewarding. The module has been used for pilot instruction to high school students and evaluated through the Force Concept Inventory. During the instruction the students showed a high degree of involvement and they gave more correct answers than students that have been taught in the traditional way.
